Idris Mohammed Ali



Idris Muhammad Ali is a popular artist, and he is one of the mostprominent Eritrean artists where he
joined in the early seventies the popular forces for the liberation of Eritrea.
This great singer was born in Sahel. His initial years were full of struggles and he started off his career
with a brief stint with PFLE.
He used to sing Tigre and Arabic songs during the 1970's.
He considers to be one of the founders of that front and the early opponents of
the policies of the Management Committee at that time because of that he joined
the political wing led by Osman Saleh Sabbe.

He established and organized professionally the first Eritrean music band which represented PFLE,
During the struggle for liberation
Idris Muhammad Ali walked east and west to drum up support for the struggle of the Eritrean people.
This multi talented singer has sung in numerous occations and in different languages.



Idris is one of the most popular singers of the Tigre and the most acclaimed singers of the present generation,
He has been praised by senior and established singers for his original style and voice quality.
He was the voice of the the Eritrean revolution during the the years of the strugle. After independence he continued to sing for his beloved Eritrea until his arrest by the regime.
